Soy Marinated Flank Steak

  • 1 flank steak, about 1.5 lbs. (you can use the extra for salad the next day)
  • 1/3 cup of soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp canola or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Freshly ground pepper to your liking (optional)

Step 1

Poke steak all over with the tines of a fork, cut in 2-4 pieces against the grain.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients, except meat. Mix well. I like to mine in a bowl with a lid so that I can shake it up really well or make a day ahead and store till I am ready to marinate.

Step 3

Put steak in large re-sealable plastic bag or glass dish and pour mix over steak. Turn to mix well and marinate overnight.

Step 4

Remove steak from marinade and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 5

Cook meat, using either a broiler or grill, for 5-8 minutes on each side.

Step 6

Set aside on cutting board for 5 minutes. Cute the steak against the grain, on a angle, in thin slices or slices to your liking. I cut in big slices.
