What’s Cookin’ Week of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving week is finally here and I am sure many of you have your eyes set on Turkey Day rather than the rest of the week. In lieu of my typical weekly menu, I have compiled a list of some wonderful, healthy recipes for you to try this Thanksgiving. There are a few from my website and a few from some of my other favorite websites. The last link goes to the Meal Makeover Moms site where the also have a list of 10 Healthful Thankgiving recipes. I hope you have a great holiday.
Spiced Pecans – I make these every year as gifts for friends and family. They are super easy to make and a nice thing to have to just throw in a holiday bowl when guests start arriving and need a little something nibble on.
Simple Kale Salad from Seasonal Eats: A Recipe Collection of Georgia Dietitian Nutritionists – Thanksgiving meals can get rich so this is a nice dish to lighten things up a bit.
Wheatberry Salad with Sweet Potatoes – Colorful, healthful, filling and fun…this is a must. It take a bit of work but worth the time and efforts. Your guests will love it!
You can substitute slivered almonds for the onions for a more healthful topping.
